Ardmore is a community that rests between Montgomery (Lower Merion Township) and Delaware County (Haverford Township). Ardmore is also part of the Main Line which is filled with wealthy suburbs west of Philadelphia. Ardmore resides next to Wynnewood, Gladwyne, Haverford, Havertown which for the most part are also part of the Main Line as well.

Ardmore’s Train Station is in service for SEPTA Regional Rails which commutes on the Paoli/Thorndale Line. Suburban Square is one of the earliest shopping centers all throughout America and it’s even in proximity to the train station. The shopping center has the former Strawbridge and Clothier which was the first suburban branch of a major department store, Not Your Average Joe’s Restaurant which used to be a suburban movie theater, Apple Store, Ardmore Farmers Market and the usual mall shops.
Ardmore has history behind it. Not as far back as the Revolutionary War and such but in the 1800’s. For 20 years, Ardmore was named as Athensville which was later changed to Ardmore when they later built a train station for the Main Line. It also has a few places that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Two different sites and located in the Haverford Township is Point Reading and Merion Golf Club East Course.
