Removal of Wildlife From Your Chimney
A chimney’s main function is to safely vent hazardous gases, heat and smoke from our homes, but often is the source of a wildlife invasion. Some animals may enter a chimney by accident and become trapped, while other animals use a chimney as a place of shelter to live. Most often when wildlife find their way into a chimney it becomes a problem such as a blocked chimney flu , foul smelling odors or even a wild animal inside a home. It is our job to remove the invading wildlife and complete needed repairs to prevent another problem in the future.

Squirrels will build nests made of sticks, leaves and debris inside a chimney flu causing a complete blockage of the chimney. Other times squirrels may enter a chimney seeking warmth and shelter only to fall down to the bottom becoming trapped above the damper. Once we remove the squirrels humanly, we also can remove nesting materials, sweep the chimney and install a protective cover.

Animal Removal Out of Chimney
Raccoons tend to enter unused chimneys to use as a den site or as a safe place to give birth to young. Raccoons do not typically build nests inside a chimney flu, but climb all the way down to the smoke shelf or above the damper. A litter of young raccoons inside a chimney produces a distinct sound that sounds alot like chirping birds. Trapping and installing chimney caps is usually a long lasting solution.
Bats commonly used a chimney like a cave crawling inside to roost. Bats can enter small spaces such as missing mortar joints or even chimney caps not fitted properly. An unprotected chimney top is usually the most common ways bats enter our homes.
Animal Removal From Chimneys
Birds usually will rest on the highest points of a home often falling down inside a chimney unable to fly back up. A bird trapped inside a chimney will usually make alot of noise flapping in their desperate attempts to get out. A species of birds called chimney swifts will enter a chimney and build mud nests on the inner walls of a chimney. These swifts will raise their young in these mud nests causing quite a racket with their screeching noises.
We also remove dead animals from chimneys that sadly did not survive becoming trapped inside. It is an unpleasant job but someone has to do it. No matter what the situation is involving wildlife inside chimneys we have seen it before and know how to handle it. It is our goal to safely remove the invading wildlife quickly and provide a permanent solution to prevent another problem again.
